Is it here yet?

Well, a few more days have passed. And. . . . . . . . . . . . .NOTHING.

Your mom has completed her last day of work. She is ready for a nice long 12 week vacation with you. If I told you I told you I wasn't jealous, well, I would be lying. I wish I could wake up with you, take naps with you, and hold you all day for 12 weeks straight. But just remember, when I get up and leave for the day, someone has to buy you all those diapers you love to ruin in a matter of hours! Your mom is a real trooper my son. You will always hear stories of expecing moms having a horrible last month of pregnancy. It is common for them to be in great pain and discomfort. Many times they are so tired that their normal activities have to slow or cease. Your mom however, seems to be unstoppable. She has been working all the way up through the last week before your arrival date. Not only has she been working hard but she hasn't been complaining either. When she gets home I try to get her to sit and relax but she is up and down all night! She doesn't ask for any help to speak of (although I do offer it as much as I can). Well, now that I say that I take it back. She does ask for help. . . . GETTING OFF THE COUCH! It is hard work looking like a bowling ball smuggler!

Your dad has been spending each day at work as if it was his last day before a week vacation with you. His desk is cleaned every day. His repairs are organized and specific instructions on how to finish them has been left with able hands. He has been working feverishly trying to finish all the repairs to his cars so that he has reliable transportation and can focus on you and not the garage for a while. However, in all honesty, sometimes he takes one step forward only to create two steps backwards because things didn't go quite as planned with his unique changes to his car. When talking about his car he often says "its hard work looking this good". I hope he kept that in mind this last week when he was getting up at 6am to do two and a half hours work to "fix" his car only to find out afterwards that it wasn't "fixed". All that because the wheels that were on the car just were not cool enough! Just remember Elliot, he dreams of playing in the garage with you. In fact Elliot, while we are on the topic, its never to early to think about what kind of car you want to drive for your first. I'm sure he would buy it tomorrow and work on it for 16 years with you just to make it prefect in his and your eyes!

And so it continues. The most beautiful Christmas tree ever keeps parading around in front of me. The most gorgeous present still tucked gently under her caring branches. No hint as to when Christmas will come.

I'm beginning to think maybe I should leave milk and cookies out on the table each night. . . . . . . . . . .
